Athena Academy is concerned about more than our own students, We care about dyslexic children everywhere. There are 11 million children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old with dyslexia, and very few are able to get the education they need. Their considerable talents are lost to all of us, and they lose confidence and acceptance.
Athena Academy is dedicated to improving the learning process for dyslexic learners everywhere by researching, documenting, disseminating, and advocating for innovative, replicable, and evidence-based strategies that enable dyslexic students, K-12, to master and enjoy learning and producing.
The work begins in Athena Academy, our laboratory school for children with dyslexia. We begin with our research and innovation to bring about new advances in the field of dyslexia education. We will collaborate with other schools in this field to determine best practices. We will disseminate information about our methods and best teaching practices as widely as possible.
Your Donation Matters
Your donation supports Athena Academy’s mission to help dyslexic learners! Your charitable contributions help us:
- to bridge the “tuition gap.” Tuition alone does not cover the full costs of the highly personalized educational programs designed to maximize each young learner’s strengths.
- to hire, train, and retain the best teachers for dyslexic learners. It takes $10,000 or more to train a new teacher, plus it’s essential for us to offer ongoing professional development.
- to expand the school’s ability to offer financial aid. Tuition may be out of reach for many families in need of the school, and we aspire to maintain a diverse student body to demonstrate our program’s effectiveness for the widest possible range of dyslexic students.
We are a tax-exempt nonprofit 501C3 organization. Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Please donate now to Athena Academy to support this truly important work. Thank you!
