Your Donation Matters

Your donation supports Athena Academy’s mission to help dyslexic learners!  Your charitable contributions help us:

  • provide a constantly improving academic environment with new tools for learning, engaging projects, and interesting enrichment activities.
  • hire, train, and retain the best teachers for dyslexic learners. It requires $10,000 or more to train a new teacher, plus it’s essential to offer ongoing professional development.
  • expand our ability to offer financial aid. Tuition can be out of reach for many families in need of the school. We aspire to a diverse student body to demonstrate our program’s effectiveness for the widest possible range of dyslexic students.

We are a tax-exempt nonprofit 501C3 organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Please donate now to Athena Academy to support our truly important work. Thank you!

Planned Gifts

A planned gift is a donation from your estate. It is a lasting legacy on behalf of the students we serve. Planned gifts can be simple bequests, transfers of cash or securities, a percent remainder of your estate, or your designating Athena Academy as the beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy. For more information or sample bequest language, please contact Director of Finance and Operations, Jo Mutch.

If you have included Athena Academy in your estate plans, please let us know so we can thank you and be certain we understand your wishes.

Our Purpose

Athena Academy is dedicated to improving the learning process for dyslexic students everywhere by researching, documenting, disseminating, and advancing innovative, replicable, evidence-based strategies that allow dyslexic students to enjoy learning, master course content, and achieve academic success.

This work begins in our school for children with dyslexia. Our research and innovation will help advance the field of dyslexia education. We collaborate with other schools to determine best practices. We disseminate information about our methods and best practices in teaching as widely as possible.

Athena Academy is concerned about more than our own students, too. We care about all dyslexic children. There are 11 million children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old with dyslexia, and very few receive the education they need. As a result, these children lose confidence in themselves and their abilities. Their considerable talents are then lost to all of us.
