A Week of Creative Problem-Solving and Growth
Students at Camp Confidence are kept creatively and intellectually engaged. Watch this camper tackle a real-world design challenge by creating a tiny home for a client with specific needs. Through mood boards, blueprint design, and 3D model building, campers develop critical thinking skills while immersed in meaningful work.
See how our project-based approach transforms challenging moments into opportunities for growth and accomplishment. This is creativity, learning, and purposeful engagement at Athena Academy.
Camp Confidence in Action
Each week for students is built around a real-world theme using the Project Based Learning framework from PBLWorks. Students strengthen their reading comprehension, writing, and problem-solving skills during morning Language Arts and math sessions, with all activities directly connected to the week’s theme.
In the afternoons, they apply those skills to hands-on design challenges by developing mood boards, drafting blueprints, calculating measurements and budgets, building 3D models, and presenting their final projects with pride.
Throughout the week, students collaborate, think critically, revise their work, and push through challenges — gaining academic skills and confidence in how they learn. Last year, campers designed and built Tiny Houses and created Food Truck businesses from concept to launch.

“He was able to learn reading, writing, and math strategies that he uses to this day. The small classes allowed him to make friends quickly and connect with his teachers. The fact that he came home each day talking about how much fun he had was a huge bonus. Just what we were looking for! Summer at Athena Academy was a fantastic program for my dyslexic child.”

“We tried several summer programs over the years and this was the one and only program that our daughter came home smiling and excited to go back! Summer “school” was finally not a struggle. She was actually learning while getting to know like-minded kids and teachers who understood her. She truly found where she belonged at Athena. The summer program at Athena Academy was everything we didn't know we needed.”
